JON JONES IS OUT OF UFC 200!!

In the early hours of this morning the UFC called an impromptu press conference where Dana White and Jeff Novitzky (Vice president of athlete health and performance) revealed that Jon Jones had been pulled from the card on an out of competition test dating to 16th of June. USADA have alerted the UFC and Jon Jones about a potential anti doping policy violation, this doesn't mean that he has taken performance enhancing drugs but it's very likely. Jon Jones has not yet called for his B sample to be tested which may reveal a different result but he will have time to put a case together and call for that B sample to be tested and himself and a representative to be present when it's tested.

It's worth noting that it was not a recreational drug such as cocaine or marijuana or any of those types of drugs as they are not tested for in out of competition testing, meaning that the positive test was for a performance enhancing drug, the UFC have not disclosed what drug Jon tested positive.

This is truly devastating for Jon for so many reasons, Jon was on his path back to greatness and a win over Cormier would've got him back on top of the heap and back in the public eye as a hero and a role model again as coming back from the bottom and anti-drug poster boy. Now there are a lot of issues with trust and Jon Jones, he has been preaching that he was back and a completely changed man and he had made all these changes in his life, with this it's all thrown out the window and it's a huge loss for the UFC and more importantly the fans. It's really difficult to be a Jon Jones fan right now when he continually lies and let's us down, it's just sad.

Daniel Cormier is understandably heartbroken and looked terrible on the stand at the impromptu press conference giving his feelings and reaction to the events, he looked like an emotionless shell who couldn't process what had happened, in his words "I've done everything right and I've put myself in a position where I felt like I could win this fight". When Daniel has spent the last few months training tirelessly, doing media, thinking about Jon everyday and his only ever loss to him and his chance to prove everyone wrong. He looked great in training, handling the media well, this could've been his chance to stand on top of the UFC and say look I'm the best, and that would've meant the world to him as an athlete and made his legacy potentially into one of the best in the world! Financially he will apparently lose millions as he had a stake in the PPV buys and this was billed to be the biggest card ever.

The UFC are currently looking for a replacement for Jon to fight Cormier on under 2 days notice. So far Gegard Mousasi who is fighting on the fight pass prelims at middleweight has offered to fight him, the 205 stand out Ilir Latifi has put his hand up and the Middleweight champion Michael Bisping has offered the superfight which would trult be incredible to see and awesome if they could put it together in basically a day.
